Mini Advent Calendar: my favourite makes

It's been a while (ahem, ages!!) since I wrote anything over here! Sorry to have neglected you - and this place - for so long.

I realised December creeped in quietly (how did THAT happen?), and thought it would be fun to share with you my favourite creations. I aim to post everyday until the 15th December, making it a half Advent calendar. But, who knows, maybe I will keep going until Christmas Eve, who knows šŸ˜‰.

Anyway, starting with an hommage to my valley today, I would like to showcase Valromey, a colourway inspired by the place where I grew up.

It is a small valley at the very south of the Jura mountains in France, and on a clear day you can see the Mont blanc and all the Alps on the East and South, the Vercors and Chartreuse, a truly beautiful sight, especially from the top of Grand Colombier (a pass famous in the cycling world since the Tour de France decided to make it a feature of the race).

As a kid we used to go on the Colombier often, walking the crests was my favourite outing. In the winter, one can practice cross country ski and enjoy the plateau de Retord with its beautiful landscape and isolated farms.

To create this colourway, I tapped into the colours of the "combes", these little dips in the folds of the mountain where everything is soft and colourful. The blue of the sky, the green of the fir trees and meadow, the yellow of the gentiane plants.

Thanks for travelling with me back to this beautiful place. I hope you can visit sometimes!
